LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The impact and lasting legacy of St. Louis' role in the Manhattan Project was the focus of discussion at the first radioactive waste meeting in north St. Louis County. Residents shared story after story of their families being ripped apart by rare cancers, autoimmune diseases, and miscarriages.Some residents did not know the cause of their illness until Thursday's meeting. They learned about the radioactive waste that surrounds neighborhoods and yards in north St. Louis County and got updates from elected officials.“My own experience with some of the data that has come out with the Army Corps (of Engineers) hasn’t been consistent. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge said Thursday that the alleged angry parent who shot a youth coach should not get a break to get out of jail.Daryl Brian Clemmons, 43, will remain locked up on no bond. LOUIS – Nearly a year ago, a student and teacher at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School were murdered when a former student entered the campus with an AR-style rifle and several rounds of ammunition and opened fire.To honor the memories of Alexzandria Bell, 15, and Jean Kuczka, 61, and provide students and staff an opportunity for reflection and remembrance, the St. Louis Public School District will close both CVPA and Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience (CSMB) High Schools on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.In a letter to parents, district superintendent Dr. Keisha Scarlett said it’s important for the school community “to acknowledge the difficult emotions that persist within our hearts.”The school shooter was fatally wounded in a gun battle with police officers.

Local pharmacy owner warns patients will pay if PBMs aren’t reeled in PACIFIC, Mo. – When we interviewed independent pharmacist Jerry Callahan in 2019, he asked us to hide his identity for fear of retribution. Four years later, Callahan is revealing who he is and what he knows to expose how pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) are harming healthcare.“Desperation. I’ve got pharmacies and not just me, there’s other pharmacies out there,” he said. “They’re going to close. This has got to change.”Callahan owns five independent pharmacies in Missouri, and recently served as president of the Missouri Pharmacy Association.“You’ve got three PBMs that control 75-80% of the market. Denver mass shooting suspect arrested in Inland Empire A teen wanted in connection with a mass shooting outside of a Denver nightclub last month was arrested Thursday morning in San Bernardino County. Denver police arrested Keanna Rosenburgh in Barstow with assistance from the FBI and the Barstow Police Department.Rosenburgh is accused of shooting and injuring five people outside of a nightclub in downtown Denver on Sept. 16, after security at the club refused to let her in because they believed she was using a fake ID.According to KTLA sister station KDVR, Rosenburgh briefly left, returned to speak with security and then allegedly shot toward the club as she left.All the victims survived their injuries.Police said Rosenburgh is a juvenile but did not say her exact age. Her booking has not been released.Rosenburgh is being held for eight counts of investigation of first-degree attempted homicide. The Denver District Attorney’s office will determine the final charges.

4 suspects arrested in string of Garden Grove burglaries Three women and one man were arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of residential burglaries in Garden Grove. On Wednesday, Garden Grove police officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress in the 13000 block of Greentree Avenue after the homeowner captured two suspects on her surveillance footage attempting to break in. When they arrived at the scene, authorities spotted a suspicious silver SUV leaving the neighborhood. After conducting a traffic stop, police determined that the suspects in the car, identified as 41-year-old Catalina Ciucur, 57-year-old Ino Florea, 49-year- old Caludia Margel, and 45-year-old Nicolae Elena, matched the description of the suspects captured on the homeowner's security footage. Police allege that the four suspects may also be connected to a string of burglaries in Garden Grove and other neighboring cities. All four were arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail where they await possible charges related to mult...

Man arrested after fatal Campbell crash (KRON) -- One person is dead and another has serious injuries after a crash in Campbell on Thursday afternoon, the Campbell Police Department said. A man was arrested and booked for vehicular manslaughter in connection with the crash.The crash happened at the intersection of San Tomas Expressway and Campbell Avenue at about 12:52 p.m. Victims robbed at gunpoint in downtown Walnut Creek Police said a car going northbound on San Tomas Expressway tried to turn right onto Campbell Avenue when it lost control and struck the center median, CPD said. It hit three cars and came to rest in the opposite lanes of traffic. The male driver of one of the cars was killed in the crash. A woman in the passenger's seat was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Nobody else involved has serious injuries.
