ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - Some north St. Louis County homeowners are trying to put the brakes on a MoDOT sound wall project. Sound walls have prompted concerns for many people in the Hathaway Manor North Subdivision near Interstate 270 and Old Halls Ferry Road. Concerned residents fear the walls will become a safety hazard and hurt the value of their homes. Curtis Faulker says there are big issues with the traffic that the wall would worsen.”It blocks vision from individuals coming off the highway doing 60 miles an hour, and it also blocks vision of people who are entering Dunn Road," said Faulker. "They can’t see that traffic coming off as well." Results: November 7 Missouri Special Election The sound walls would be around 12 to 20 feet tall. Plans for the sound walls came with the I-270 North Improvement Project. There are already sound walls on one side of Interstate 270. The sound walls will cost around $46,000. For Spire customers with limited incomes, the utility company is committing an additional $500,000 to help people pay their bills.“We definitely know there is a need out there," said Vonda Cotton, Community Outreach Specialist with Spire.She sees the need for funding in our community. Incumbent Mike Coffman declared victory in the race for Aurora mayor Tuesday night after securing a decisive lead over challenger Juan Marcano in early returns.Marcano, though, was not prepared to concede Tuesday night.Coffman had received 26,834 votes, or 55.32% of the total, to Marcano’s 18,224 votes, or 37.57%, as of the latest results posted at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.The third candidate in the nonpartisan race, Jeff Sanford, who ran a limited campaign, had received 3,400 votes, or 7.12%.As of 9:40 p.m., Marcano said Coffman has not yet called him, and Marcano said he was not conceding the race until more votes were counted.Marcano noted that the votes that typically come in on the Monday and Tuesday of an election skew more progressive. Three men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Riverside County more than four years ago that left one of the victims permanently paralyzed from the neck down, authorities announced Tuesday. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Two people were hospitalized after separate stabbings in San Francisco's Mission District this week, the San Francisco Police Department said. The first stabbing happened Monday at approximately 4:54 p.m. in the area of 14th Street and Woodward Street. SFPD did not provide information on the severity of the victim's injuries. One person shot dead in incident involving Oakland police The other stabbing happened Tuesday at about 5:50 p.m. at 17th Street and Guerrero Street. That victim has life-threatening injuries. SFPD has not announced an arrest for either stabbing or mentioned whether the two incidents are related. (KRON) -- The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office is searching for 79-year-old Jon Gordon Traub. Traub is a white man who stands 6-foot-7, weighs 220 pounds and has brown hair.
