Longtime CNN anchor Don Lemon is out at CNN. On Monday morning, Lemon took to Twitter to announce the news, which apparently blindsided him. "I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned," Lemon wrote in a post he tweeted. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network."Lemon was on the air Monday morning and it appeared that it was business as usual. "It is clear that there are some larger issues at play," his statement continued. "With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. 2manydjs play LA Between Coachellas: Since 1995, Stephen and David Dewaele have been members of Belgian electronic group Soulwax. Five albums into their career, Soulwax continues two thrill to this day.Meanwhile, the Dewaeles perform DJ sets as 2manydjs, and those sets are equally as exciting. This year’s two spots at Coachella didn’t represent their first time at the festival, but they were one of the best acts of the two weekends. In-between, they performed a low-key DJ set at the Fonda Theatre in L.A. There was little in the way of a show — no lighting or other visuals. There was no merch for sale, nothing. But the crowd was psyched to see them.Incidentally, that crowd was very mixed — people of all ages, in all manner of dress, proving that 2manydjs appeals to everyone. We saw one guy in a denim vest covered in prog patched (Rush, Pink Floyd, etc). Another was wearing a Dirty Dancing movie shirt. And all of them danced like loons.2manydjs have never been ...

4 Bay Area-style celebrations for Coronation Day let you be a Brit for the day

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 13:52:34 GMT

You don’t have to be a Brit or even a Harry and Meghan follower to know that May 6 is Coronation Day in the United Kingdom. King Charles III will be crowned in a ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey that day, and the news — about the carriages, the crowns, the king’s very heavy robes and the reams of regal rumors — has been everywhere.A coronation is a solemn occasion, of course, but it’s also an excuse for a national knees-up. (That’s a lively party to us Yanks.) Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation was 60 years ago, so this is a big day for British expats, who likely still enjoy the Coronation Chicken — a curry-tinged chicken salad — served at the festivities in 1953. (And in case you’re wondering, King Charles is serving Coronation Quiche.)In honor of next week’s historic event, British expat-owned businesses across the Bay Area are celebrating with parties and special menus. Yes, there will be Coronation Chicke...
